Diagnosing Amplifier Issues

Diagnosing Amplifier Issues

Step 1: Ensure The Amps Source is Set Correctly

There are two ways the music could be setup within the gallery. Either you stream directly to the amplifier from your computers, or there is a computer plugged into the amplifier that controls the music. If you stream directly to the amp, you need to ensure that the source on the amplifier is set to "Spotify". If your gallery has a Marantz amplifier, this is not necessary. If your gallery has a computer plugged into the amp, you need to ensure that the amplifier is set to either "Line out", "CD" or "Analogue Out" depending on your amplifier.

Step 2: Check That A & B Are Enabled

Most likely, your amplifier will have two zones which are A and B. If neither of these are on, no music will be played. Depending on your gallery setup, zone A may be downstairs and zone B may be upstairs. To ensure music is played throughout the gallery, ensure both A and B are enabled. On your amplifiers remote control, there will be a button for this and you should be able to see on the amplifiers screen when they are enabled.

Step 3: Check The Audio Cable

Depending on how your gallery is setup, the back of the amp may look a little daunting, however, there are only two cables we are looking for. Keep in mind, this only applies if your music is controlled by a computer which is plugged into the amplifier. There will be a cable going from the computer to the back of the amp. The cable splits into two and they are White and Red. Just ensure these are plugged in correct to the amp.
