Loss of WiFi / Low Signal Strength

Step 1: Find The Access Point

Whenever there is loss of WIFI or low WIFI signal strength, this will typically indicate that one of the access points within the gallery has gone offline.

The first thing we need to do, is find the access point. Please refer to the image below,

Step 2: Check For Power

As you can see above, the access point has a blue circle light. If this light is not on, it means the access point is not powered and this will be causing the WIFI issues.


Step 3: Diagnose The Issue

Often, the cause is that the access point has been un-plugged or come loose from the wall socket. Simply trace the power cable from the access point and ensure it is plugged into the wall and the socket is switched on.

If there is no power cable to the wall, this usually means it is powered over ethernet (Internet Cable). Trace the network cable, you should see that this is going to a small Unifi power injector. Please refer to the image below,

Ensure the power cable is plugged into he above. All going well, after these steps, you should see a blue light on the access point. If so, please wait 5 minutes and the WIFI connection should return to normal.
