Setting Up Answering Machine on Gigaset Handset

Setting Up Answering Machine on Gigaset Handset

How do I set up the answering machine of my Gigaset?

Step 1: activating the answering machine

Let's start at the beginning: activating the answering machine. You can do so as follows:

Open your device's main menu.

Select the answering machine.

Select 'Activate'.

The answering machine is activated.

Step 2: recording a welcome message

·         Open the main menu.

·         Select the answering machine.

·         Select 'Announcements'.

·         Select 'Record welcome message'.

·         Start the recording via 'OK', and leave your message after the tone. Note: the message should be between 3 and 180 seconds. To cancel the recording, you can press 'back' or select the red phone.

·         If you don't say anything for over 3 seconds, the recording will stop automatically.

·         Once you've recorded your message, select 'End' to finish and save.

·         The recorded message will be repeated so you can check it.

·         Not happy with the message? Of course, it can be deleted afterwards. You can do this by selecting 'Announcements' again and then selecting the option 'Remove welcome message'. Select 'Yes' to confirm the task and remove the message.

Step 3: setting the length of the message

Don't like long messages? You can decide the length of the messages that callers can leave. You can do this as follows:

·         Open via the main menu of the answering machine.

·         Select 'Recordings'.

·         Select 'Length', choose the length of the message, and save it.

Step 4: adjust total recording time answering machine

It's possible that the maximum recording time of the answering machine, 45 minutes for example, turns out to be shorter. This has to do with the quality of the recording. The quality can be set to 'Excellent' or 'Low'. If the setting is 'Excellent', the maximum recording time can't be used. You can change this through the following steps:

·         Open via the main menu of the answering machine.

·         Select 'Recordings'.

·         Select 'Quality'.

·         Select 'Low'. 'Low' may sound negative, but the quality of the recordings is still good.
